This 2-day course is designed to provide Law Enforcement Officers with training specific to Tactical De-Escalation techniques used to reduce the likelihood for the Use of Force during an encounter. This course is designed to provide Law Enforcement Officers with the skills necessary to assess a situation, evaluate appropriate response options, and apply tactics that will increase the safety of the officers and subjects involved, without using force when possible.
Most Law Enforcement encounters conclude without the use of any force at all. This course is focused on situations when a forceful response is a lawful option. The training will focus on tips and skills to increase their ability to handle a situation where lawful force may be an option but not always necessary.
Training subjects include: Interpersonal Communication Skills during a crisis situation; Recognizing a subject in crisis; Understanding the Fight, Flight or Freeze Response; Body Language Presentation and Interpretation; Conflict Resolution; Protecting the Public, the Officer and the Subject; Maintaining Rational Thinking; Risk Management and Tactics During Crisis Intervention; Calming Techniques; Tactical Advantages; and more.
